An old obsession - new image

I have been known to have a few unusual obsessions in my work. One is cemeteries the other mannequins - maybe I should put them together. While on a recent shoot for the SFEIC I was hanging out in one of the classrooms and I struck a goldmine. Heads everywhere. It made up for the fact that I was doing some headshots - he he he. No really, as I try to succeed commercially my personal work has taken a back burner. So having wonderful images thrust at you is amazing. I wanted to begin my wanderings around the building right then and there. Unfortunately I'm wrapped in a bit of an unusual contract so I have to be careful... Maybe they'll let me back in sometime.

Life has been a whirl of fillers - weddings, family portraits, all engage not real exciting. I enjoy helping my friends and family get great images but I'm thinking I need to push the envelope a little give them the old standard and then say hey let's try this ____. Then I get to expand my horizons and maybe there's too. A little variety in a world that is pretty straight forward. I think of an interview I was reading with Annie Lebowitz talking about how she spent 2 weeks with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to photograph the new family. I wonder if she charged an hourly rate? I don't always get that kind of time but maybe I need to. Maybe I can develop it. Hmmmm. Off to my secret cave to come up with marketing genius!
