I read this quote in one of my professional newsgroup's the other day and loved it. The context of course was negative, suggesting that we should all find our specialty and focus. Not a bad thought but a little hard for someone who thrives on diversity. I think I also realized that the majority of people in my profession aren't really interested in art - or theory, just delivering the next image to the client. Perhaps this will be the distinction that I can focus on. Creating something. Novel - Amazing no less. So as a self assigned project, I have petitioned myself to create at least 1 art image from every shoot I partake. - Family portraits, weddings, corporate head shots you name it. Maybe by continuing to further myself, and my vision, I'll also further my career. Here's to a Christmas with visions of BIG advertising contracts dancing in my head...
