Testing 1...2...3

In the world of fashion photography there's a fun way to try out new talent and stylists by bringing a team together under the term "testing." I'm testing out the talent and the stylist - they are testing me (although I think since I generally run production I get to wear the BIG hat.) Often we all walk away with something nice to put in the portfolio and a few hours time with each other to know if we'd like to work together again on a paying gig. These events are almost always considered TFP (time for prints)
With that in mind I wrangled a few fellas who needed an update for there cards and despite the harsh light (where was my morning fog?) we managed a few shots to fit the bill. Overall temperament was good and since I've been working with the under 4 set a lot lately the older age was a welcome change. Whether we had chemistry - you can be the judge.

Close to home

Home, for a really long time it was Reno, NV. Imagine my excitement in collaborating with Reno Magazine, my home town rag, on an assignment I've been want to flesh out for awhile now. Camping with kids. Scratch that, camping with toddlers - which I am willing to venture is a whole beast in itself. So we packed up the two kids and the dog and headed to nature. Luckily we enlisted the help of Grandma & Grandpa and their handy, dandy trailer. That made camping a whole lot easier. My hubby and I had our luxury air mattress tent accommodations conveniently out of earshot of the trailer so if anyone woke we didn't hear it. It was like roughing it with a nanny. The weather was beautiful, the kids happy and beside swarms of hornets at mealtime, we all had a blast. I also managed to capture some great imagery. Can't wait to see it in print next year. For a sneak peak, you can view the choice shots here.
